Marilyn Kay Holliday - Obituary

(nee Lowe), 79, died peacefully on Friday, June 8, 2018 in Bay Village, OH. Marilyn is survived by her husband of 54 years, Steve Holliday Jr.; daughters, Susan Hinnefeld (Stuart) of Cincinnati, OH and Stephanie Holliday of McKinleyville, CA; a brother Michael Lowe (Sandi) of Ithaca, NY; a sister in law, Dorothy Vacha (Norbert) of Parma, OH; five cousins, two of whom she was particularly fond of Celia McElhany and "Hank" Jolly of Kansas City; four nephews, Mark Vacha of Media, PA, Brian Lowe of Otego, NY; and Brian and Timothy McDonough of Fairview Park, OH and eight great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Bernice (nee Dohrman) Lowe of Cincinnati, OH; an uncle, Elmo Dohrman of Dallas, TX; an aunt, Hilma Jolly of Kansas City, MO; and sister-in-law Margaret McDonough of Independence, OH. Marilyn was born February 19, 1939 in Stover, MO. She grew up in Cincinnati where she met her best friend, Carol Law (nee Graler). She graduated from Western Hills High School in 1957 and Ohio University in 1961 and taught math at her high school alma mater until she married in 1963. Marilyn and Steve lived in Sedalia, MO; Huntsville, AL; Alexandria, VA and finally settled in Bay Village, OH in 1970. Marilyn was an exceptional wife and mother and we love and miss her very much. Interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery at a later date.
